# Delete a customer

> Soft-delete a BrandWallet customer and disable their active coupons.

**Soft-deletes the customer: the record is marked as deleted, their active coupons are disabled, and they disappear from list, find, and transaction flows.**

> **Auth:** `Authorization: Bearer <accessToken>` — an organization-scoped token from [Authentication](/api/authentication). Missing or invalid token returns **401**. Deletion works even without an active subscription — data removal is always possible.

### Response

Returns **200** with the deleted customer record (`status` reflects the deleted state).

Notes:

* Deletion frees the customer's `email`, `phone`, and `opaqueId` for reuse — uniqueness checks ignore deleted customers.
* A deleted customer cannot be updated, registered, or found; recreate them with [Create](/api/create-customer) or [Register](/api/register-customer) if needed.
